The Hawks open up their season tonight against Charlotte
The Hawks begin their 2023-2024 season tonight in Charlotte against LaMelo Ball and the Hornets in a Southeast divisional matchup. The Hawks are hoping they can land a top playoff seed and that journey begins tonight on the road.Matthews is a veteran player in his first season with the Hawks who will likely have a role at some point this season and hopefully, he can get healthy soon.
As for the Hornets, they are going to be without Cody Martin , Miles Bridges , James Bouknight , and Frank Ntilikina . Bryce McGowens is also doubtful. The Hawks are hopeful that this season will be one where they have a breakthrough and avoid the play-in Tournament for the third year in a row. With Philadelphia in flux, Miami not able to land Damian Lillard, and Cleveland and New York being similar-caliber teams, it is not crazy to think that the Hawks could make a run at a top-four seed if things break right for them this season. That journey is going to begin tonight against the Hornets.Tip-off time: 7:00 p.m.
