Auburn basketball signs 5-star 'combo forward' Yohan Traore.
“I am so pleased to welcome Yohan to the Auburn Family,” Pearl said. “I have great respect for players like Yohan, who come to the U.S. to pursue their academic and athletic dreams, far away from their families. Talk about a cultural fit to our program. Yohan is humble and hungry. He is incredibly disciplined, a hard worker and wants to be coached. He has tremendous upside because of his effort, his attitude, his size and his skill level.
Traore is the second-highest rated signee in Auburn history, behind only Jabari Smith, the consensus All-American and national Freshman of the Year who led the Tigers to their first-ever No. 1 ranking and a regular-season SEC title last season. Traore is the fourth five-star prospect to sign with Auburn out of high school, joining Smith, Sharife Cooper and Mustapha Heron; all four have come during Pearl’s tenure as head coach.
In Traore, Auburn adds a versatile frontcourt piece who should help soften the blow of the departures of Smith and Kessler, who both declared for the NBA Draft following their breakout seasons on the Plains.
