They have lost nine in a row against the Aztecs — including last year’s 20-14 home loss — and now cling to a 19-18 lead in the all-time series.SDSU is a 1 1/2-point underdog against Air Force for a game that kicks off Saturday night at 6 at Snapdragon Stadium.
It is the second time in four seasons Air Force has swept its in-state rivals, though it will take several more meetings for the series to become a big deal.If those are the bright spots on the season, certainly the downside is a disappointing finish in the Mountain West. Two weeks after that came a loss at Utah State and Air Force’s hopes of winning the Mountain Division were all but over.Air Force has won three straight games since then — against Army, New Mexico and Colorado State — and the Falcons still have a chance for their second straight 10-win season.Air Force’s triple option presents a challenge for opponents who typically have limited time to prepare for an offense that is both unusual and run with precision.
