Banter is coming back.

The owners announced via Facebook: “It’s official!!! We are excited to announce that we will be opening a new location in our old neighborhood of Gordon Square. We are honored to be opening in the former Minh Anh location at 5426 Detroit Ave. on Cleveland’s west side. Though we don’t have an exact date for opening, trust us when we say “as soon as possible”. We are honored and humbled by the outpouring of support from guests and community and their want to see Banter back on the west side.

Matt Stipe, Adam Gullett and Tom Owen opened Banter Beer and Wine in 2015. The store-eatery, located on Detroit Avenue between West 73rd and West 74th streets, offered a unique culinary mix of gourmet house-made sausage sandwiches and poutine with rows of wine bottles and craft beer available. In 2018, the owners announced they were expanding to a stall in the Van Aken District Market Hall in Shaker Heights with a scaled-down version of their restaurant.
