A new poll has put Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders ahead of former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg in the billionaire's own state—but, it appears Sanders has yet to win minds in the Big Apple itself.
The monthly poll, which saw 658 registered voters surveyed last week, will be released Monday morning, but was reviewed in advance byOf the 685 people surveyed, only 315 of self-identified Democrats were asked about their party's April 28 presidential primary in New York.Of those who were surveyed on the primary, 25 percent threw their support behind Sanders, while 21 percent supported Bloomberg.
Up until as recently as November, it was Biden that was leading the Democratic presidential race among New York Democrats.The recent poll's findings are in line with Biden's general decline in the polls, with the former vice president losing ground to both Sanders and Bloomberg, who has surged ahead in support, despite having skipped the Democratic caucuses in Iowa and Nevada, as well as the New Hampshire primary.
