Supporters of Bernie Sanders acknowledge he is unlikely to win the presidential nomination, but they say “he’s no longer just a lone voice”
Bernie Sanders’s allies, aware their preferred candidate is unlikely to win the Democratic nomination, are now aiming to cement his legacy as the politician who pushed the party to the left on health care, climate and more.
For now, they are encouraging former Vice President Joe Biden, the Democratic front-runner, to adopt more-liberal policies. And they hope other progressive candidates can build on the movement Mr. Sanders launched five years ago and dethrone the party’s establishment leaders.
