BetterCallSaul's mid-season 6 finale ends on a shocking and jaw-dropping cliffhanger, according to Lalo Salamanca actor Tony Dalton.
Better Call Saul season 6 part 1 ends on a shocking cliffhanger, teases star Tony Dalton. For the first time in the Breaking Bad prequel's history, its sixth and final season will be split into two parts on AMC, similar to season 5 of its predecessor. Better Call Saul season 6 premiered on April 18 and is quickly approaching its mid-season finale on May 23. After more than a month off, season 6 will resume airing on July 11.
Picking up where its season 5 cliffhanger left off, Better Call Saul season 6 sees Giancarlo Esposito's Gus Fring clean up his botched assassination attempt against Lalo Salamanca by having Nacho Varga take the fall. With the help of his head of security Mike Ehrmantraut , Gus installs a vast surveillance network in Albuquerque as he awaits Lalo's return. Meanwhile, Jimmy McGill and his wife Kim Wexler move forward with their plan to sabotage Howard Hamlin .
I will tell you something, at the end of the first part of this last season, like you said, is a shocker. It's a huge shocker. I mean, the way it ends from, I guess it's episode eight or seven, to what's going to happen in the second part it's going to leave everybody with their mouths open, for sure. When I read it, I jumped up and down in Albuquerque I was like,"Oh my god, I can't believe what happened." That's the truth.
Dalton isn't the only one involved with Better Call Saul teasing a shocking cliffhanger in the upcoming mid-season finale. Creator and showrunner Peter Gould made a similar comment teasing a"big" cliffhanger and a"painful few weeks" as audiences await the Part 2 premiere. With Gould and now Dalton both hyping up the mid-season finale, there is mounting pressure for Better Call Saul to deliver a shocking cliffhanger that will live up to the expectations fans have.
Much like its predecessor, Better Call Saul is undoubtedly a slow-burn character-focused drama, though it has a knack for meticulously building to momentous finales that feature surprising twisst, turns, and cliffhangers. Breaking Bad did the same for its mid-season 5 finale, ending with the dramatic moment when DEA agent Hank Schrader finally realizes his brother-in-law Walter White is the notorious meth kingpin known as Heisenberg.
