, Landrieu was asked for an explanation as to why Biden was losing the support of Latinos, a voting bloc that overwhelmingly voted for him in 2020.: “I don’t know. … Latino voters are like everybody else. They move around from space to space. You see this with African American voters as well.”Though he didn’t know why Latinos were defecting from Biden’s base, Landrieu expressed confidence that they would change their minds.
“I think that you got to play this thing out and see actually how it works,” he continued. “Latino voters are like everybody else. They move around from space to space. You see this with African American voters as well. The point of the matter is, most Americans want a safe and secure country. They want a stable. They want somebody that is fighting for them. And at the end of the day, I think that they’re going to vote for Joe Biden.
Elsewhere in the interview, Landrieu defended Biden’s position on immigration, arguing that the border has been in crisis for “the past 20 or 30 years in this country.”from Equis, a research firm focused on pursuing Latino interests, found that more battleground state Latinos support Trump on the issue of immigration over Biden.
