United States Sens. Bob Casey and Pat Toomey have nominated Jacqueline Romero and Jerry Karam to the Eastern District and Middle District of Pennsylvania, respectively.
was nominated as U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, according to a joint press release sent by United States Sens. Bob Casey and Pat Toomey.
Romero is 16 years into a career as an Assistant United States Attorney, before which she served as senior counsel to the United States Mint and a trial attorney in the Commercial Litigation Branch of the United States Department of Justice. Karam’s nomination would see him replace John Gurganus, who was appointed as interim U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
State Attorney General Josh Shapiro weighed in after the announcement to say he was glad to see the nominations
