The Buffalo Bills have named Damar Hamlin as the starting safety for Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals, his first start since collapsing on the field.
To say that Damar Hamlin has had a tumultuous NFL career is an understatement.Originally selected by the Buffalo Bills with the 212th pick of the sixth round in the 2021 NFL Draft, Hamlin had a breakout year in 2022.Unfortunately, it all came to a screeching halt in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Jan. 2, 2023.After what seemed to be a routine tackle on Bengals receiver Tee Higgins, Hamlin collapsed on the field with what was later determined to be commotio cordis.
