Blazers Plan To Re-Sign Jerami Grant; Have Shown Interest In Deandre Ayton - RealGM Wiretap

The Portland Trail Blazers fully intend to build their roster around Damian Lillard. That includes retaining a key free agent and trying to add outside talent.

Reports are that Portland plans to re-sign Grant, as part of their efforts to build around Lillard. Grant averaged 20.5 points with the Blazers last season, while shooting 47.5% overall and 40.1% on three-pointers. The Trail Blazers have also had interest in trading for Deandre Ayton of the Phoenix Suns in the past. It's unclear if acquiring Ayton could be a part of a deal that sees Portland move on from other players. The Blazers are considering trading Anfernee Simons and the third overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
