Blue Beetle Is Just ‘The Beginning’ of Jaime’s DCU Future, Says Director

Audiences may be treated to an action-packed Blue Beetle movie in the future as his future in the DCU is teased by the director.

. “We want to give this movie time to give this introduction properly so that we really know Jaime’s heart fully so that when the other movies come, we can start having explosions every five minutes if you want.”Blue Beetle follows Jaime Reyes, a fresh college graduate, as he begins a new chapter in his life. However, when he comes into possession of an ancient relic called the Scarab, he is suddenly bestowed with newfound abilities that can be unpredictable at times.

The film’s synopsis reads: “Jaime Reyes suddenly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology called the Scarab. When the Scarab chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he’s bestowed with an incredible suit of armor that’s capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the superhero Blue Beetle.”

Besides Maridueña as the titular superhero, the Blue Beetle cast also includes Bruna Marquezine as Jenny Kord, Belissa Escobedo as Milagro, George Lopez as Rudy, Susan Sarandon as Victoria, Damián Alcázar as Alberto, Harvey Guillén as Dr. Sanchez, Adriana Barraza as Nana, and Elpidia Carrillo as Rocio.
