A new digital wearable for cars can change the way a model looks in seconds.
BMW has a new vision. Fresh on the heels of a series of vehicle reveals involving new concepts related to mobility concepts and future technology, the automaker showed off the BMW i Vision Dee, a mid-size sedan with uniquely emotional features at the CES trade show in Las Vegas.
The word"Dee" stands for Digital Emotional Experience, a name BMW has given to its design aim, which creates a stronger bond between people, their cars, and the cars' technology. BMW's i Vision Dee concept car is a look at what to expect once BMW's Neue Klasse vehicles hit the road from 2025. The company sees that date, and those vehicles, as the next generation of the BMW brand, an evolution launching the company into its digitized, electrified future., an all-electric BMW iX sport utility vehicle that has the ability to change colors from black to white.
Here's how it works. The concept car is divided into 240 E Ink segments of film, each of which is controlled individually, allowing for a different color to be displayed on each segment, or a pattern to be shown. The patterns can be generated and varied within seconds.

Used BMW E46 M3 CSL for saleE46 M3 CSL – fabulous low mileage example The M3 CSL can quite reasonably claim to be possibly the greatest M road car ever made. The standard E46 M3 was already a masterpiece of engineering, with near perfect weight distribution, the most powerful normally aspirated engine ‘per cc’ ever made (and winner of multiple awards) and handling to flatter even the most frivolous of drivers. The CSL just crowned it all off. With an amazing 10% weight saving – by the use of carbon fibre panels (roof, valences, engine components, bumpers and interior) – and a centre of gravity downshift – as well as an increase in horse power from 343 to 365, the CSL wrote the book on how to squeeze every drop of goodness from an already supremely accomplished sports coupe. With hindsight, the CSL is easily the high point of BMW Motorsport, before the bean-counters and EU joy vampires finally got their way. With only 422 RHD CSLs produced for the UK market – many of which had a pretty energetic first few years – the number of truly collector quality examples available is probably only now in double figures, and we’ve seen most of them. This particular CSL has been through our workshop this year, and can certainly be said to be one of the very best examples you will find, having spent most of the last decade amongst a fine collection of motorcars, until it arrived in our showroom. Even the most discerning CSL expert will struggle to find fault with this particular CSL, which looks, feels, and drives just like a 16k miles car should. There isn’t much more to be said, other than that, if you’re looking for the best CSL money can buy, you’re probably home safe.
