Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore are still waiting for the greenlight to return. Under the contingency, they could stay on the ISS for another six months.

NASA is considering partnering with SpaceX to bring its astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams, back home due to ongoing concerns about Boeing's Starliner capsule — despite Boeing's assurance that the spacecraft is capable of the task.

Since then, the homecoming has been repeatedly postponed as ground teams work to identify the issues and conduct tests of the thrusters on Earth. These problems have prompted NASA to delay its next ISS mission, providing more time at the space station for Boeing's capsule. SpaceX's four-person flight, originally scheduled for this month, has been pushed to September 24 at the earliest.
