BOERNE, Texas - Boerne Independent School District is planning ahead this year for its teachers and staff.District officials say teachers, nurses, and librarians will receive $1,500 each. All other employees in permanent full-time and part-time positions will receive $1,000 each.
The Director of Communications for the district says this is another way the district is trying to show support for its employees during uncertain times. "We didn’t want to wait on what the Texas legislature was going to do in the special session. As far as funding public schools, we knew it was imperative on top of the raise we had at the beginning of the school year, which was 3.5%, that we gave a really significant raise for the holiday season. So, we know this will go a long way, not only to our teachers but our custodians and our bus drivers,” said Bryan Benway, Director of Communications.
