Investigators believe bones found near a car in a wooded area of northern Etowah County are the remains of a Florida woman missing since 2019.
leaving her brother’s Glencoe home in Etowah County, headed toward the home of another brother on Lookout Mountain in Gadsden.Etowah County sheriff news conference on missing woman Lorene Virginia Collier, missing since March 5, 2019. Her vehicle was located Wednesday.The car was found off Scroug Out Drive near Tabor Road north of Gadsden.
A human skull was located, along with bones, clothes, and a purse. Collier’s Florida driver’s license was inside. Samantha Cummings, Collier’s granddaughter, was at a news conference announcing the findings this morning in Gadsden. “She was the woman everyone was excited to see,” she said. “She was kind. She cared very much about her family. Words will never describe what she was.”
