For those still riding, passengers are being asked to enter from the back of trains and busses and first row seats closest to the drivers have been marked off. Pedestrians crossing the streets by foot no longer a need to press a crosswalk button in many areas of the city as the lights have switched to an automated rotation.

Grocery stores, once completely picked over, are beginning to restock—though highly sought items such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap, canned food and certain cuts of meat are now being rationed, sometimes with a store attendant in the aisle to keep you honest. Senior hours have also been implemented to allow one of the most vulnerable groups the opportunity to shop at a reduced risk. The city’s also reversed its ban on plastic bags over fears that reusable totes might promote virus spread..

As a city who once loved frequenting favorite coffee shops, happy hour bars and weekend brunch spots is no longer allowed to dine-in, the restaurant industry is feeling the strain. Many have closed their doors, some have switched to takeout operations but even those businessNormally, Bostonians would be eagerly stowing away winter coats and soaking in the long-anticipated spring thaw. They’d be looking forward to Red Sox games and the excitement brought on by the Boston Marathon.
