Disney and Pixar’s ‘Onward’ earned a solid $2 million yesterday
Onward
began its box office quest last night with a perfectly fine $2 million in Thursday earnings. The bad news is thatearned $2.3 million in Thursday previews last year for an eventual $47 million domestic cume. The good news is thatearned $1.5 million in Thursday previews in March of 2017 and ended with a $50 million domestic launch. Oh, andearned $2.2 million in previews three years ago for an eventual $53 million domestic launch.
The comic fantasy, starring Tom Holland and Chris Pratt as two brothers questing in a fantasy world to fix a spell that was supposed to bring their late father back to life, is very good and generally compelling no matter how it holds up against the likes of.
