This isn’t groundbreaking, but up until recently I wondered if I’d ever have reason to dig out these old stats. Another “bad but not really bad” box office milestone is the “$100 million losers club,” whereby a big movie earns over $100 million less on weekend two than it did on weekend one.
Thanks to a big Christmas Eve dip,dropped over $100 million just between its first and second Friday, earning $175 million less in weekend two than weekend one .holds the live-action record for post-day ten legs for a $100 million loser, partially because Christmas break didn’t begin until its 11th day in 2017.
