Each team led by seven points at various points of the game but worked to a 47-47 tie with 7:10 left in the fourth quarter. After two Jarvis Harris free throws to make it 63-59 in favor of Conroe, Tomball hit a 3-pointer to close within one with 10.1 seconds left. Harris made two more free throws before Tomball’s Manuel Ruiz was fouled on a 3-point attempt.
“We’ll take a win, especially a tough win,” Mason said. “Game could’ve went either way. Hats off to Tomball. Coach Doty always does a great job with his bunch. Our kids stayed the course and came out with a ‘W.’
