Bridgeland High School teen in induced coma after car crash on way to homecoming
Wright’s aunt, Shayla Northcutt, said in a Facebook post that Wright was ejected from her vehicle during the accident, resulting in two broken femurs, multiple facial fractures, two broken kneecaps and various other injuries. Wright was transported by Life Flight to Texas Medical Center. During surgery, her spleen was removed and pins were put into her femurs.
“This morning she was put into induced coma and they drilled a hole to relieve some of the pressure and swelling in her brain and by 3 pm today the swelling was decreasing - moving in the right direction,” Northcutt said in a Facebook post on Sept. 13. “I know with enough support, prayers and love she will get through this.”
According to an update on the official GoFundMe page for Wright, created by Natalie Friedl, she is recovering after surgery and transitioning into the next steps of her healing plan.
