Britain's antitrust regulator on Friday cleared Microsoft's (MSFT.O) acquisition of 'Call of Duty' maker Activision Blizzard (ATVI.O) after the restructured deal substantially addressed its earlier concerns.

"The new deal will stop Microsoft from locking up competition in cloud gaming as this market takes off, preserving competitive prices and services for UK cloud gaming customers," the UK's Competition and Markets Authority said in a statement.in April by Britain's competition regulator, which was concerned the U.S. computing giant would gain too much control of the nascent cloud gaming market.

EU won’t reportedly need to approve Microsoft’s Activision deal again. - The VergeBloomberg is reporting that the European Commission won’t need to go through an approvals process for Microsoft’s revised Activision Blizzard deal. Microsoft announced a restructured deal in August, designed to appease UK regulators, that involves transferring cloud gaming rights for current and new Activision Blizzard games to Ubisoft. The European Commission originally said it was “carefully assessing” the restructured deal, but it appears it’s now good to go.
