British PM RishiSunak fined after getting caught not using seat belt on Instagram
Sunak was traveling across northern England when he decided to make a video of himself discussing further allocations of the Levelling Up fund, dedicated to projects within local communities in the United Kingdom. In the video, the car he's traveling in is clearly moving, and the prime minister is seen without a seat belt.
"Following the circulation of a video on social media showing an individual failing to wear a seat belt while a passenger in a moving car in Lancashire we have today issued a 42-year-old man from London with a conditional offer of fixed penalty," Lancashire Police tweeted without revealing Sunak's identity.The prime minister's office has since issued a statement to the BBC to say Sunak"fully accepts this was a mistake and has apologised.
The U.K. government’s Levelling Up Fund has a share of 2.1 billion pounds and most recently allocated 208 million pounds toward 11 different projects in Wales, from the creation of new cycle routes to a cross rail.
