Britney Spears was granted the right to execute documents for the first time in 13 years.
On Wednesday, a judge granted the pop star the right to execute documents for the first time in 13 years, perwho spoke to reporters outside the courthouse following the brief hearing, said that means “she has the power to do whatever she wants to do,” according to the outlet. Rosengart also reportedly told Judgeinside the courtroom that “Ms. Spears, as an independent woman, not under conservatorship,” should be able to execute documents herself.
The attorney added, “As for depositions, I offered to schedule a call with Mr. Rosengart to discuss mutually agreeable to dates for the depositions of Jamie and Britney…To date, he has never responded to this email. Again, assuming arguendo that I was refusing to produce Jamie for deposition then his recourse is to go to Court and file a motion to compel. He did not do that, presumably because I actually offered to work with him to schedule depositions and then he ignored me.
Spears’s lawyer was also asked how his client is enjoying her newfound freedom, to which he replied, “I think she’s commented publicly through her Instagram posts what her state of mind is. She’s delighted. We had a great victory on November 12. She’s a free woman after 13 years of an abusive conservatorship that we believe was corrupted, and I’ll leave it at that.”
