California leaders are proposing a timeline that will ultimately result in 100% of new cars sold being zero-emission by 2035.

SAN DIEGO —

“This will be a dramatic reduction in greenhouse gases and a major reduction in air pollution,” said Sperling. “But it’s really the consumer that has to decide they’re going to actually buy it. We can tell the car companies they should sell them but someone has to buy them,” said Sperling.
