The Maine Mineral and Gem Museum says it will pay big bucks for a verified piece of the fireball that fell in the state on Saturday.
This NASA map shows the estimated strewn field of Maine’s Saturday fireball, based on radar data. The red is where the largest objects may have fallen, while the yellow range represents smaller radar signatures.Though larger meteorites, if they exist, are likely to be found closer to Waite, the highest likelihood location for finding any of the space rocks is on either side of the Canadian border, noted the museum press release.
