Despite Smith’s heroics, the Seahawks will likely feature a run-heavy offense throughout the campaign. There were several signs of promise on Monday. The returningreceived the start and totaled a team-high 60 rushing yards on 12 carries. Penny averaged 5.0 yards per carry and exposed Denver’s run defense with a 26-yard gain. Penny looked explosive and arguably should have received more touches in a close-contested ballgame.
