The Capitol Christmas Tree is on its way to Washington, D.C.
Ruby, a 78-foot-tall red spruce tree, made stops in Hampton Roads and the Outer Banks Monday as it continued its journey to the Capitol, according to a report."Every year, a different national forest is selected to provide a tree to appear on the west lawn of the U.S.
Capitol building for the holiday season," according to the tree's website.Ornaments that will adorn the tree include those contributed by school systems, art studios, community groups, and conservation programs in the Tar Heel State.Ruby will visit North Chesterfield, Virginia, and Joint Base Andrews in Maryland before finally arriving at the Capitol.
