The Avengers are entering a new era with a new creative team, a new lineup, and a new direction for Earth's Mightiest Heroes - now with Captain Marvel as their leader. Following Jason Aaron's five-year run on the title, Jed MacKay and C.F. Villa are set to take over with a total relaunch of the team starting with Avengers #1 this May.
Avengers Preview Showcases One of the Strongest Teams Ever 5 Images Close If the star-studded lineup isn't enough to get readers excited, the team dynamics are sure to offer a fresh spin on the roster of veteran Avengers heroes. MacKay confirms that Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel will act as team leader this time around and that promoting her to that position is "simply a logical progression" of her character.
