A spokesperson for the district told us a student was rushed to the hospital after she was hit by a driver while trying to cross the street.
HOUSTON, Texas -- Spring ISD confirmed with ABC13 that one of its students was hit by a vehicle Wednesday morning while trying to cross the street.
A spokesperson for the district said a Dekaney High Schoool student was hit at about 6:50 a.m. on Imperial Valley near Doubletree Glen Drive outside the ninth grade center.The district said the driver stopped to help the student, who officials said was coherent, until first responders arrived at the scene.
The student was rushed to Memorial Hermann, but an update on her condition has not yet been released. "Our thoughts are with the student and her family as they deal with this difficult situation," a spokesperson for the district said in a press release.An investigation is ongoing.
