Holiday had a $37.36 million player option in his contract for the 2024–25 season after which he was due to hit unrestricted free agency. Instead, he will remain with the Celtics through the 2027-28 campaign and will earn $135 million over the course of his new deal, which comes out to an average annual value of $33.75 million.
