The 'Leadership Fairbanks' program offers nine months of training to young leaders.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce will soon be hosting the twentieth annual ‘Leadership Fairbanks’ program.
Jeremy Johnson, President and CEO of the Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce, said the program is sure to be as successful this year as it has been in the past. The course outline begins with taking the Clifton Strengths assessment, to help participants recognize their own strengths and weaknesses. They also intend to cover all the ingredients needed to create a high-performance team such as clear communication, performance coaching, and creating trust.
“The students will benefit, their employer will benefit, and then the community will benefit,” Johnson stated. “For example students that have taken the class often go on to hold positions of higher management in their organization, or to then have skills that make them better board members on nonprofit organizations they might participate in, or maybe consider civic office.”
