Chinese state media are promoting allegations that the Ukrainians staged the mass graves in Bucha, the latest in the Asian nation's furtherance of Russian propaganda about the Ukrainian invasion.
A Wednesday editorial in the Chinese Communist Party-run Global Times promoted claims from the Kremlin that Bucha was faked and even blamed the United States for continuing to accelerate the conflict in Ukraine.
The editorial claimed that Russia provided"empirical evidence" to the United Nations Security Council to prove the Ukrainians falsified the incident and that the aggrieved response from the West to the events in Bucha is motivated by a"profound double standard." The piece then attempted to present the West as failing to seek peace.
