DR Power Equipment has recalled the chippers because the fin scroll may fail and throw out pieces of metal that could injure the user.

The DRPower PRO XL501 Chipper Shredders were sold at authorized equipment dealers nationwide and online from September 2019 through September 2022 for about $3,800, according to“The fin scroll of the chipper shredder can fail, ejecting pieces of metal from the chipper shredder hopper during operation, posing a laceration hazard.”
The recalled machines have the model numbers CS35050BEN and CS35050BENR. They have an orange body and a black motor on a black metal frame that has two wheels. Known owners will be sent a repair kit with instructions. Owners also can take the chipper-shredder to have the free repair done for them - including transportation to and from the dealer.
