A shooting on the 280 temporarily shut down some lanes. A woman suffered a gunshot wound to her leg but was not in reported to be in life-threatening condition.
Part of Interstate 280 in San Francisco closed on Friday afternoon after a woman was shot in the leg.
The woman, who was driving a car, was taken to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital in unknown condition, though California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Andrews said her injury was not reported to be life-threatening. The shooting occurred about 1 p.m. on the southbound side of the highway in the area of Alemany Boulevard, near the Portola neighborhood. It forced the southbound side of Interstate 280 just west of Highway 101 to close as authorities investigated the shooting, and the southbound lanes reopened after around an hour.
No suspect description was immediately available. Anyone with information on the shooting was asked to contact the California Highway Patrol, whose San Francisco office can be reached at 415-557-1094.
