Eleven cars were involved in a wreck in San Francisco on Tuesday. CHP shared the cause.

The California Highway Patrol said the sun's glare was the cause of an 11-care pileup in San Francisco on March 22, 2022.CHP said the multi-vehicle crash appears to have been"caused by people driving too fast with the sun in their eyes."

The agency warned in a Facebook message posted Tuesday night that changing seasons can bring different conditions and drivers should be prepared. "Daylight savings time just started, so the sun is in a different place in the sky than it was during your commute a couple of weeks ago," CHP said. Please make sure you are driving at a safe speed and that both you and your vehicle are prepared for changing conditions no matter what the weather is outside."The incident occurred at 7:30 a.m. on I-280 northbound south of Ocean Avenue when drivers in 11 cars were all involved in a wreck.
