New city ordinance declares weeds a public nuisance, orders fines for properties
ENTERPRISE, Ala. - The Enterprise City Council declared weeds a public nuisance on Tuesday, and property owners could soon face fines if yards are not up-to-par.
The new ordinance also says excessive growth poses a fire hazard, harbors rodents and other pests, and depreciates property values. All property owners within the city limits of Enterprise are now required to maintain any grass or weeds growing on the property so as not to constitute a nuisance.
