Claiming it's footage of South Texas meteor, San Antonio news outlet shared video filmed in Florida
in the Valley. The San Antonio television station owned and operated by Sinclair Broadcast Group used a screenshot of the Daytona Beach video as the main image used in its coverage of the incident.
News 4 also embedded the Twitter post and video into the body of its story to illustrate the “numerous posts … popping up on social media from people who captured the sonic boom on their surveillance cameras.”and said the"footage posted on social media showed what appeared to be a bright streak through the sky.
The San Antonio television station did not immediately return a request for comment. News 4 has recently removed the photograph and tweet from the story. The Express-News was able to identify the video’s lack of authenticity in several ways. While there is a Harvey Avenue in McAllen, it is a residential road with homes lining both sides.
