At over 3,500 years old, Cleopatra's Needle is the oldest outdoor monument in NY. It also holds two time capsules, with no plans to be unearthed. We know what's in one capsule, but the one person who knew the contents of the other died over a century ago.

It likely also had something to do with William H. Vanderbilt, who funded its travels, pushing for that location.
