CLEVELAND, Ohio - In Ohio, a car is a vital source of transportation. However, Cleveland and East Cleveland households top Ohio’s most populated cities for homes without access to a vehicle, new Census Bureau estimates released in December said.The median for the state is 6.2%, one percentage point lower than in 2016. Most cities have decreased the number of households that do not own a vehicle since then.

The highest share of Ohio households has two cars, at 38.5%. This is topped by Madeira in Hamilton County , followed by Cincinnati suburb Wyoming , Pepper Pike , and the Cincinnati suburb of Springboro . An additional nine cities in Ohio have at least one out of two households with two cars.
