Among the many intricate jersey designs that are meant to blend the past, present, there is a deep blue backdrop with a texture of Berea sandstone, which trickles from the formation of the iconic Guardians of Traffic pillars. There is also the return of racing stripes down the sides, paying tribute to the teams of the late 1980s and early 1990s.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — The process of developing and designing the Guardians’ new Nike City Connect uniforms began way back in December of 2021, mere months after the club announced it would go through a name change ahead of the 2022 season. Throughout all of 2023 until now, the club has been working to produce and develop a merchandise plan ahead of the rollout, culminating in Monday’s uniform unveiling.
