Cleveland Heights detectives are investigating an incident that took place on Berkeley Road in which several shots were fired in the vicinity of a home and a boy, who was on the second floor of the home, was shot in the leg.
Published:Cleveland Heights police detectives are investigating a shooting that injured a 16-year-old boy on Berkeley Road.CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio -- A 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg while upstairs in his aunt’s house as a bullet appeared to have pierced the side of the home. The shot that struck the boy was one of many shots his aunt said she heard fired around the house.
The woman said her nephew, who was upstairs with three other children, had been shot in the leg. An officer found the boy on the second floor, standing, with a gunshot wound to his outer right thigh. The officer applied a tourniquet and called for EMS. The woman said she then heard 30-40 more gunshots. She said she waited for the shots to stop and then called 911.A CHPD release states that the juvenile victim was treated at a local hospital for a non-life-threatening injury and released.
