STRONGSVILLE, Ohio - An acquaintance of a 74-year-old man murdered in the Cleveland Metroparks eight months ago is now behind bars.
Johnston was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head in a remote wooded area of the Cleveland Metroparks Mill Stream Run Reservation in Strongsville on Sept. 30, 2023, according to police. Police said Vendler was charged with aggravated murder and arraigned in Berea Municipal Court on May 29, 2024.
