The Cleveland Silent Film Festival presents four nights of classic films from September 6–9.
returns for its second year beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 6. The event features five films over four nights with screenings at Masonic Cleveland Auditorium, Cleveland Museum of Art and Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. Each film is presented with live musical accompaniment and, in some cases, live sound effects.
“The Mark of Zorro” starring Douglas Fairbanks follows on the festival’s second night on Thursday, Sept. 7, at the Cinematheque. The 1920 swashbuckler will be shown with an original score by the acclaimed Alto Motion Picture Orchestra, a five-piece chamber ensemble from Colorado that specializes in the historic repertoire and techniques of early silent film orchestras.
