Respiratory syncytial virus season is just around the corner, with cases usually starting in the fall. RSV is the most common reason for hospitalization in infants and young kids.RSV immunization is now approved by the FDA.
“I remember saying to him 'Would you do this for your own kids?' and he said 'Absolutely,' so I said 'OK, we’re in,'” Meany said. Over the eight years since the Meany twins were given the shot, the immunization has been tested extensively. My kids are eight years out of the study and they are healthy and happy," Meany said. "I mean, they’re thriving so it really shouldn’t give pause for anybody thinking about it.“I feel good because I’m helping others," Cassidy said.Doctors are now looking forward to helping protect more kids with the newly approved RSV vaccine.
