SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT – A coach on the Cuban team has mysteriously left the Little League World Series complex.

Jose Perez left International Grove where all the teams stay late Saturday and did not return, according to a statement from Little League.The organization stated that it has communicated with all appropriate authorities but would not say if it is considered a defection. Attempts to reach the State Department on Sunday were unsuccessful.This is the first year a team from Cuba has been in the world series. Bayamo was eliminated Sunday losing to Panama, 3-2.
