A decades-old cold case in Arkansas has been solved, according to police, and the suspect has been charged with murder.
Rick Allen Headley, who is being held in the Varner Maximum Security Unit, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 19-year-old Sabrina Underwood.
A few months later, a hunter found items belonging to Sabrina and sheriff's deputies found human remains nearby. Years later, in July 2022, an affidavit said a state police investigator got a tip from the Madison County Sheriff's Office with information from a local lawyer. The lawyer's client told an investigator Headley confessed to the murder in a letter.
The affidavit details how Headley told investigators Sabrina was trying to extort money from him, and he "knew he could not let her ruin his life."
