COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — An armed man who police said fired off shots in a neighborhood before pointing the gun at officers was shot and killed by Colorado Springs police Saturday night.
At approximately 10:36 p.m., officers responded to 4200 Deerfield Hills Road on a report of a disturbance.When CSPD arrived, the man fired a round and the other occupants of the home fled.CSPD officers on the scene called for tactical backup.The man did not respond and instead pointed his weapon at the officers.The man was later taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries.Per CSPD policy, any officers involved in the incident will be on paid administrative leave.
