Colorado has issued an 'Ozone Action Day Alert,' encouraging drivers to take steps to prevent air pollution.

The southwestern and western portions of the Denver metropolitan area were expected to have the highest ozone concentrations, according to the alert. Sunday’sOzone may reach the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups category on Sun & Mon. The highest concentrations are expected in the SW & W portions of the Denver Metro area, including the foothills. Reduce outdoor exertion in these areas to protect your health.

“When CDPHE issues an Ozone Action Day or other alert, the NWS will relay that information to the public via our Air Quality Alert,” it added.
