Gusty winds across the state are expected to reach 75 miles per hour and a high wind warning is in effect for the Front Range Foothills, Urban Corridor and Palmer Divide.

Gusty winds across the state are expected to reach 75 miles per hour and a high wind warning is in effect for the Front Range Foothills, Urban Corridor and Palmer Divide,A high wind warning is in effect in the Front Range Foothills until 6 a.m. Tuesday, Urban Corridor until midnight tonight, and Palmer Divide until 12 p.m. today. Wind gusts are expected to reach 55 miles per hour across the plains.

Driving may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Blown down trees and power lines, with brief power outages, are possible.just north of 53rd Avenue and between 58th Avenue and Interstate 70 in Adams County because the wind blew down a large overhead sign. The blown down sign was reported around 4:36 a.m. and the road opened at 5:40 a.m.

Wednesday will be sunny and breezy with a high of 59 degrees and gusts up to 24 miles per hour. There is a 10% chance of precipitation that night, with a slight chance of rain and snow showers before 1 a.m. and rain showers until 3 a.m. Temperatures will dip to 37 degrees and thunder is possible. A high wind warning is in effect in Teller County and the Rampart Range, including Pikes Peak, until noon today. Gusts may reach up to 85 miles per hour.

Areas near Canon City and eastern Fremont County are under a high wind warning until noon today with wind gusts up to 75 miles per hour.
